Thank you Year One 2023

Hello Year One Families

From everyone in the Year One Team, we just want to say a huge thank you for the wonderful words, gifts and cards.

It has been an absolute pleasure to teach such a fantastic group of children and to watch them grow and learn over the last year. 

We wish you all a happy, fun-filled Summer break.

Do give us a wave and a smile as you enter Year Two in September. Don't forget us, as we certainly won't forget you!

Our final full week in Y1

 Hello Year One Families

We have completed our last full week together. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone!

We started the week with our sports day. We hope you enjoyed it as much as the children did! 

In science, to learn about the changing seasons, we have taken a photo in front of an apple tree every month from October through to July. This is our final picture and we have gone full circle. We started the year with apples on the tree and watched as the tree changed each month. We also took note of the clothes we were wearing in each season and how the days changed too. I have particularly enjoyed seeing how the children have changed over the year too. 

We said our final goodbyes to Mrs Stockman today. She has been such a fantastic member of the Year One team and we felt very lucky to be a small part of her journey.

Next week:

Wednesday is our treat day! We are planning a disco in the morning followed by a movie and popcorn. There will be (fun!) alternative choices for any children who don't wish to take part in these.

Thursday is our Y4 leavers service that the class will be attending. 

See you all next week for our final four days together.
