Year 1 - PSHE lesson

During the lesson, we also discussed the correct names for body parts, including private parts, as part of the Science curriculum.

Year 1 - Week 2

Hello everyone, we hope you have had a super weekend!

We have had another great week in Year 1. Your children truly continue to amaze us every day!!

This week we have been looking at numbers to 20, which has included one more, one less and looking how these numbers look on a number line. In English we continued to look at the book 'the lights that dance in the night' and children planned and wrote their own poems. In Science we looked at materials and learnt about what is an object and what material it is made from.

This week we were lucky enough to have a visit from a planetarium! IT WAS AMAZING!!! The children loved it and were so engaged and inspired.

Just a reminder that PE lesson are on Wednesday and Thursday. If your child doesn't have their PE kit in school please send this in. Also we are continuing with our outdoor learning on Friday. Not many children have outdoor clothes in school. Please can you send these in.

Stampede By the Sea

 This week we will have an Stampede by the Sea Inspired to Learn Arts Week. Each child will create their own elephant which has been kindly donated by Howards Motor Group.

The Children will be working with Artists from Poundbury Art to complete their design. Please can your child bring an old large t-shirt to put over their school uniform whilst they are painting. We will be using Acrylic paint which can stain clothing.

We can't wait to share updates with you as the week goes on.

Happy new year and welcome to Spring 1!

Hello everyone! We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We are all so excited to see you tomorrow!

Please can you ensure children come back to school with a named PE kit, named water bottle and their uniform is labelled. We had a lot of unnamed uniform and water bottles at the end of term.

We are so excited to start this new term and have so many exciting things planned!
