Hello everyone! We hope you have had a good weekend and enjoyed the lovely sunshine.
We have had a great week in Year 1 and we can't believe how fast this year has gone. Your children make us proud and amaze us everyday!
This week in Maths we have moved onto a new unit all about fractions. This will be continuing next week. In English we continued to look at the book 'Lost and Found' and have created some super writing! In Science we have continued with our topic of plants and have been learning about evergreen and deciduous tress and observing the growth of our sunflower.
We have also been designing and making puppets in DT related to 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Children will be bringing this home at the end of the term. Children have loved having mini ballers in to teach them ball skills. We still don't have every child in the class with their PE kits, please can you check this.
As the weather is getting hotter and we are spending more time outside in the sun, it is really important that children are wearing suncream and have sun hats in school. Please can you make sure you are putting suncream on your child before school and sending them in with a hat.
We have a very exciting trip to Abbotsbury Gardens on Tuesday. As the weather is forecast to be sunny, please can children have suncream on, bring in a sun hat and a water bottle. Children can wear whatever trousers you think are suitable and also suitable shoes. Please can you ensure children are wearing their school t-shirts.
Any questions please email or catch us at the door.
See you tomorrow!
