End of year treat - Year 1

 Hello everyone!

I know there have been lots of questions regarding our end of year treat and when this will be. As Year 1 have been the MOST AMAZING CHILDREN EVER, on Monday we will be having a pyjama, cuddly teddy, popcorn and film treat.

Please can children bring in their pyjamas and a soft cuddly teddy. The adults will also be in their pyjamas with a soft cuddly teddy. We have said no toys for this day, but we would love to see their favourite cuddly teddy. Children do need to come into school in their school uniforms.

Please can a named bag be brought in this week if you haven't already. We have had a few in already, but still have lots of children without one.

Any questions about this, let us know!

Kicking Off Inclusive Sports Fortnight in Style - Year 1

Kicking Off Inclusive Sports Fortnight in Style!

We’ve had an incredible start to our Inclusive Sports Fortnight, packed with excitement, energy, and inspiration!

We began the week with an unforgettable visit from Gladiator Steel, who kicked things off with a powerful message about determination, teamwork, and resilience. Meeting a real-life Gladiator was an amazing experience for everyone, setting the tone for what’s become a truly special fortnight.

Tuesday brought sunshine and school spirit to our Sports Day, where the whole playground came alive with races, team games, and inclusive sports that got everyone involved. The laughter and cheering made it a day to remember!

On Thursday, we shook things up with Alternative Sports Day – a chance to try new and exciting activities outside the traditional sports mix. It was all about finding something for everyone and celebrating the joy of movement in all its forms.

We finished the week with Railway Day, a fun and creative twist that kept our bodies moving and our imaginations rolling down the tracks!

But we’re only halfway through…

Next week is just as exciting – on Monday, we welcome Jamie Knight, a professional freestyle footballer, who will be showing off his incredible skills and inspiring pupils with his story and tricks. Then, on Friday, we’ll wrap up the fortnight with a high-energy Dance Day, bringing rhythm, expression, and joy to every corner of the school.

What a fortnight it’s turning out to be – full of movement, inclusion, and moments to remember!
