Last week in Year 1!

Hello everyone, hope you have been enjoying the sun this weekend!

Last week in year one has been incredibly busy!!!! I want to say a massive thank you for sending in costumes for Peter Pan and for coming to watch. Each child was amazing and enjoyed it so much.

In Maths we have been continuing to look at numbers to 100 using a number square and looking at the tens of ones of a number. In Literacy we have been writing newspaper reports all about The Great Fire of London. In RE we have continued to look at Judaism and how this creation story is the same as Christianity and why. In PE we have been practising for sports day and taking part in basketball with Coach Luca.

As the weather is getting hotter we are doing a lot more outdoor learning. Please ensure children come into school with sun hats and suncream on.

This week we have lots on! Tomorrow marks the start of our inclusive sports fortnight. It's also our bikeathon tomorrow so we are encouraging children to come on their bikes to school. We also have our class photos in the morning tomorrow. Tuesday we have a taster session for taekwondo which is going to be lots of fun. Thursday it's our sports day at 2:10. Spectators are welcome! Friday is our DANCE DAY at 2:30. Spectators are also welcome to come to this.

We have recently assessed the children in RWI. This week they will start in their new groups. We did not send home any RWI books or spellings because of this.

I have had a few of you ask about the results of the phonics screening. The results for this will be on seperate sheets in their reports.

See you in the morning!
