Hello Year One families
Here are some highlights of our learning this week. The children absolutely loved the KAPLA club on Monday and were so engrossed in building their structures as you can see by the photos!
The children listened really well to the Money Matters talk by HSBC and really enjoyed the treasure hunt and coin rubbings they got to do.
In science the children have continued their learning about materials. This week they used language to describe different objects and materials. For example they used the words waterproof, transparent, bendy, hard, soft.
In DT the children made their vehicles. After lots of investigation and learning about chassis, axles and wheels they were very happy with their finished products.
Don't forget that next week is our dress as an astronaut day on Thursday 8th February as the culmination of our history of space topic. The children will be training to be astronauts on this day with lots of fun activities planned!
Maths home learning - Following the workshop, the 5 weeks home learning will begin after half term.
