Welcome Back
Year 1 had a fantastic start to the summer term yesterday. Everyone worked really hard and the classroom was busy with lots of wonderful learning going on. In Literacy we read "Ah, said the stork" by Gerald Rose and the children worked well talking and listening to each other in their talk partnerships about their story and came up with some fantastic ideas about what they would do with an egg if they found one! We investigated numbers and number lines in Maths, creating our own number lines and thinking about BIG NUMBERS! The biggest we came up with was 1,000,000,002, perhaps you know a bigger one! The children had certainly been working on their reading over the holidays and all the children will be getting new books from the fabulous new look library over the course of this week. In the afternoon the children were able to explore learning through play and also investigated primary colours and colour mixing in art and made some fantastic symmetrical prints!
So I think you'll agree - we've been super busy and we're looking forward to heaps more learning fun this term.
