This week in Year 1 we are carrying on writing our pancake recipes from the story of Mr Wolf's Pancakes.
All of the children have been writing this on the computer on either word or purplemash. The focus has been on using openers such as First, next, then. They need to make sure all of the instructions are numbered, they start a new line for each instruction and they have the important verbs in the instructions that tell the reader what to do (mix, stir whisk).
In maths we have been trying to grasp missing number sentences such as 7+ ? = 15. Today we recapped on our number bonds, in particular to 20. It would be good to see some maths home learning where the children have been practicing this.
This week we have a number of maths morning jobs which the children seem to settle quickly to in the morning. This is a great time for them to show us some independent work and also a time for them to talk and work with their friends.
Tomorrow we have the Year 8 sports leaders coming in for a PE session. I will hopefully blog some pictures of this tomorrow.
