A big huge Year One thank you!

 Hi Year One Families,

Just a brief post to say how very grateful we are for all of your kindness over the past few days. We have absolutely loved our time with the fabulous children of Year One, they have been such a delight all year, they are kind, resourceful and their confidence has flourished throughout the year. I am extremely proud of them all. Yesterday, the sneaky Year One Team threw me a surprise birthday day as I am celebrating a rather significant ahem 'decade' birthday over the summer. The children sang me happy birthday 9 times in a row! NINE times! And then again after break! They are always up for a good time!

I know this special group of children will continue to bloom and grow throughout their time at POW and I know they will be very successful in everything they do in the future.

As I said to them today, whilst we are moving on, we are not saying goodbye, rather a see you soon and we are only a wall away.

Have a fabulous summer.

Hi Year One Families,
Please could every child bring a bag for life with them tomorrow, as we have lots of bit to send home.
Thank you!
Ms Evans

RSE lessons

Hi Year One Families,

Just to update you, yesterday during SCARF we were talking about anatomically correct names for parts of our bodies. The information shared with children is included in the RSE letter shared during the summer term.

Just to keep you in the loop if you here any vocabulary that might surprise you over the next few days.

"Beach" day

Hi Year One Families,

On Thursday morning we will be having a 'beach day' experience. This will act as an exciting stimuli for our diary writing. Children will spend the morning experiencing all the joys of the beach, we will make sand castles, paddle in 'Sea' (aka Reception's paddling pool) and we might even have an ice cream from the Year One Ice cream parlour!

Children can wear shorts and t-shirt which is suitable for paddling in and please provide a change of clothes or PE kit just in case they get a little too wet. (We are paddling not having a water fight!)

Children will attend Forest school as normal in the afternoon.

Please share this blog with other parents so everyone knows.

Here are some photos from sports day and last week.

Forest School Request

 Hi Everyone,

I have been requested to ask that all children have shorts for forest school tomorrow! PE shorts will be fine if you definitely have them in school!

Thank you
