Y1- Meerkat Mail and finally looking at the postcards!

We hope you had an amazing bank holiday and got to enjoy the glorious sunshine?! Can we remind you of the importance of water, sun hats and labelled sun cream please. The sun cream should be handed in to an adult and not left in your child’s bag.

This week we are working on the story of Meerkat Mail. A fantastic story about a meerkats journey around the world. We will get a chance of the next few weeks to look at all of the postcards that have been sent in (and there are lots!). We will of course give these back to you once we have finished with them, however some do not have who they know from the school. Thank you to everyone that has contacted family members and friends to send a card we have covered the globe I think!

In maths we will be focusing on our addition and subtraction facts and working on inverse number sentences such as 6+12=18 so 18-12=? We will also be using this to build up fact families on one sum. The children will be using their reading skills to work on word problems.
