Trip to the farm tomorrow...

Sadly, I am writing this blog to let you all that the trip to the farm tomorrow is postponed. The weather forecast isn't looking great with lots of heavy rain and 45mph winds. We are aiming to go to the farm on Tuesday next week - however we will have to see what the weather is like. Please still send your children in dressed as farmers tomorrow as the rest of the school is also dressing like this!

We are holding a virtual harvest celebration next week and we were wondering if children would be able to bring something in...all will be revealed during our Autumn Festival. The following items we are asking for are:

-cauliflower, cabbage, strawberries, beetroots, onions, apples, plums, broad beans, tomatoes, celery, blackberries, marrows, gooseberries, rhubarb, lettuce, radishes, carrots, turnips and potatoes.

You will only need to bring one item in and we do ask for this item to be brought in on Tuesday.

Also, please could you spend some time at home listening and learning this song:      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRQEQgyGAGA

Year One have been working so hard with learning their RWI sounds and after half term we will be focusing on spellings, holding a sentence and then writing this, story green words and also red words. This will mean that there will be a slight change in the timetable. This will be shared with you during half term.

For home learning this week we will be sending reading books home and also green/red words to be practiced. Alongside this there will be a picture in which we are asking for children to write some sentences linking to this. We look forward to seeing what the children come up with!

Any questions, please email me or see a member of Year One in the morning or after school.

See you tomorrow farmers!

Miss White and the Year One team.
