A great first day and news for the week ahead.

 Hi Year One families,

We had a lovely day on Friday, the children adapted to the new classroom and adults brilliantly.

We had a lovely time painting our Art aprons, these will travel through our journey at The Prince of Wales with us and we will add to them at the beginning of each year.

The children spent Friday exploring our new learning landscape we completed mini challenges, including copying the other half of a drawing and designing an ice cream. In the afternoon we worked together to make our class charter, the children have a fantastic understanding of choosing kindness.

We also met 'The Shush.' The Shush is a mysterious kind creature that lives under the carpet in Year One,  The Shush eats letters and sounds and you can feed The Shush by practicing letter formation on a whiteboard and send them to The Shush by cleaning your whiteboard on the carpet.  The children really enjoyed this fun activity!

Turning our attention to the week ahead, please ensure that PE kits are in school on Monday as we will be doing PE on Mondays. Forest school is on Wednesdays, please ensure that children bring wellies into school that are clearly named, these can be stored at school. Children will need to bring in clothes suitable for the elements as forest school takes place in all weathers.

On Tuesday at 9:00 we have our Parent information session, I am looking forward to discussing life in Year One with you.

Please do reach out if you have anything to discuss.

Ms Evans and the year one team.
