Friday 5th July - Dance Day 2019 - You are all welcome to come into school from 14.30pm and come and observe the year 1 class dance as well as all the other class dances... I'm sure there will be a few surprises there too!

Wednesday 10th July - Sports Day - From 13.30 onwards on this date we will all be heading out on to the playground for our annual feast of sports! There will be a selection of Inclusive Sports, Playground Skills and of course, Races. Bring your running shoes. Just saying.

Friday 12th July - Football Golf - Our first ever Football Golf course will take in the entire school grounds and you are welcome to come along and play a round with your child. Year 1 will be teeing off from 14.30pm for this event. A separate letter will be coming home about this very soon.

Tuesday 16th July - Fleet Trip - Year 1 will be embarking on a trip to the Fleet in Weymouth for a day of activities and fun. If you are available on the day and would like to help please let us know. Fingers crossed for some good weather.

Friday 19th July - BEACH PARTY! - As a final celebration for the year and for all the amazing and fantastic effort, determination and perseverance Year 1 will be having a beach party. A separate letter for this has already come home but if you have any further questions, please come and ask. The biggest thing for this is ensuring children wear something to school you will not mind getting wet in!

Tuesday 23rd July - Final Day of Term - We will enjoying the final day of school for this year in style... did someone say ice cream??

We are all very much looking forward to these last few weeks and events! Please come and find us if there is anything you are unsure of, or would like to discuss.

Hello everyone,

Yesterday we began learning our dance for Dance Day this Friday! To help us with showing this dance we thought as a class that it would look MUCH cooler if the children were to wear caps and sunglasses.

Year 1 - Land Ahoy!

Hi everyone,

So this afternoon year 1 got to take the boats they had brilliantly made for a spin...! It was so great to see not a single boat looking anything like any of the others! Some wonderful creativity and application. Thank you for all the effort and time you have put in at home, there was much fun to be had with them. This week we will be finishing our topic of pirates and moving on to a fortnight of Mary Poppins! Kites anyone?

Year 1 - Great Trip to the Riverlab!

Hello everyone,

Year 1 had a fantastic trip to the Riverlab on Friday. The weather was a bit sketchy to begin the day with but this did not deter the children from their tasks.
We began by collecting samples from the river itself to use in the afternoon. This was great fun and I think everyone got a little bit wet through doing this... Having said this, nobody actually fell in!
In the afternoon we went back to the lab and began to investigate all the things that we had caught in our samples earlier on. There were some very keen-eyed observations by the children and some fantastic observational drawings with scientific labels.
Everyone appeared to fully enjoy the day and took part in a very mature and sensible manner.

I hope to have a photostory on the TV for when you come in tomorrow so you can get a flavour of what we got up to!

Year 1 - Friday's Trip to Riverlab

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to the second half of the summer term! I hope you're as excited as I am... Its going to be great fun -the sun might even come out for a bit too.

This Friday we have our trip to Riverlab with the year 1 class. If you haven't already done so please could we have your consent forms back to us by Thursday as we will need these. For the day itself we are expecting some rain but this shouldn't stop us from pushing ahead. To be prepared for this trip we would ask that you send children in to school with the following bits for the day.

  • Wet suit/trousers - many of the children have these at school for Forest School and can just change when they get here or take it home the night before.
  • Wellies - again, many of these are at school.
  • Raincoat
  • Spare socks AND trousers - this will be because it is highly likely that the children will be in the river at some point and the water can go over the top of their wellies!
  • Water bottle and a snack.
Please feel free to send this stuff into school in a separate, named bag. Children are welcome to wear play clothes to school that you wouldn't mind getting wet and potentially muddy.

If your child usually has a school dinner this will be replaced with a packed lunch. If you usually send in a packed lunch, please do so as usual for this day.

We are very much looking forward to this trip. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to come and speak to us.
