Wow this week has flown by! I am extremely impressed with how well all of
the children have settled in to the routine and expectations of Year 1.
This week we have been looking at the story 'Owl babies'.
The children have been writing descriptions of the owls, sequencing the
story and today we made a story map so that it is easier to retell the
story.
In maths we have been counting sets of objects, ordering numbers, filling in missing number lines and some have started to write the numerals in words.
This afternoon the class decided on the 'Rights and Responsibilities' which they have all agreed to follow. This will be stuck on the back page of the children's reading log tomorrow.
At the end of the day we put out a board to ask for a picture of the front of your house. The children will use this next week from Wednesday in their writing. Please send a picture either on a USB stick for us to print off, a printed picture or you can email them to me.
Just a reminder that the parent information session is Tuesday at 9am.
Many thanks
