A great first week back! The children did some writing about
what they got up to over the half term, it sounds like they all had a lovely
time.
This week in maths we have been learning to count in 2’s, 5’s,
and 10’s. We have learned about multiples of those numbers and how they may
have the same multiples (for example 10 is a multiple of 2, 5 and 10). We have
learned how to write a multiplication sum 2x6 =12 and arrange these into
arrays. Can your child make an array using objects at home?
We have continued our learning of pitch in music, the children
worked in groups to represent a song getting higher in pitch with their
actions! Can your child recognoise when a melody gets higher or lower?
Our topic this half term is ‘Traditional Tales’. We will be looking at these in Literacy over the next few weeks. This week we looked at
everyday materials in Science and planned suitable materials for making a hand
puppet in DT. Can your child remember which character they would like to make?
A big Well done to Mia, our class Dojo winner this week.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I look forward to
seeing you all dressed up for World Book Day next Thursday!
Mrs Entwistle
Just a quick note to ask if your child has accidently taken
someone else’s jumper home, please can you return it to school. We seem to have
a few missing this week. Thank you.
