Hello Year One families
We have had another busy week of learning in Year One.
In maths we have been learning about numbers to 20 and have been making it using different resources. We have been using a number line to find where the numbers go. We're getting really good at this now. We have also been learning 1 more and 1 less.
We had fun in literacy this week being 'space tourists.' We wrote about what we had seen and heard on the moon as well as describing an alien.
Our visit to the space dome was awesome! We learnt about the planets and the constellations. In history we delved into the life of Neil Armstrong.
In DT we began our investigation into moon buggies. We watched the 1972 Apollo 16 moon buggy move around the moon as inspiration and then talked about what we would like our own moon buggies to look like.
We are still really enjoying our gym sessions with Mr Treble.
Thank you for your attendance at the parent information session this week. We hope you found it informative. Please do come ask if you have any further questions. If you weren't able to attend you should have received an email with the session for you to listen to at your leisure.
Once again, your children have made us very proud this week. They really are a credit to you all.
The Year One Team
Mrs March, Ms Browne, Mrs Elliott, Mrs Rogers, Miss McCourt and Ms Dainton.
