A really big thank you!

All I can say is WOW!! I am so overwhelmed with your generosity and kind words/gifts. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! Your support and kindness never goes unnoticed.

Your children will always hold a special place in my heart and this will be a class that I will never forget. This has been the first class in which I have taught from the first day and I could not be more proud of each and every one of them. Your children are kind, amazing, funny, resilient, caring and determined....I could write a lot more but I'm sure you get the gist. (This is what I wanted to say on Friday....however, my emotions got the better of me HAHA).

Although I am upset that your children had to leave me I am excited to see them grow even more! I will also only be next door, so you can't get rid of me that easily!

Thank you once again and I hope you have the most amazing summer!!

Last week of Year 1..

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine!! Even though it is SUPER HOT!!

I cannot believe that we are nearly in the middle of the last week of Year 1. Even though I am very emotional I am excited for the children to carry on with their POW journey.

Just a few things to update/remind you about;

- Please can you have a look for any library books and RWI books you may have at home. We seem to be missing a lot and need them back.

- Can you make sure all children have sun hats if you have them and apply sun cream before children come to school. If you want us to re apply this in the day please can you also bring this is with their name on.

- There will be no hot dinners on Friday, so please can all children bring in a packed lunch. As it's the last day it would be nice if you could put something special in their packed lunch as well to mark this occasion.

- We are having a school disco on Thursday so please send in some PARTYYYYYY clothes for the children to change in to.

- RWI assessments were due to take place this week, however, due to us going back to bubbles this cannot happen. With this in mind, all children will be staying in their current RWI groups when they move into Year 2. Assessments will take place in the first half of term.

As always, if you have any questions please ask.

See you tomorrow,

Miss White x

What a week we have had in Year 1!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and have had a great weekend!

We have had such a busy and exciting week, and are now on the countdown to the end of their time in Year 1.

We started the week with an EXTREME bike show that all children loved and were inspired by! This was also a sad day as we said goodbye to the amazing Miss Ruken, however, we wish her all the best in her new job!

On Tuesday we had our Bikeathon which all children took part in and were riding around the school on either bikes or scooters. They even got to go through the corridors!! I am so proud with the effort that each and every child showed!!

On Wednesday we took part in Mrs Long's Darts Day, and I really think we have some future dart players on our hands. All children had so much fun with this activity!

Thursday was transfer day and I am so incredibly proud of how each and every children approached this. They showed amazing behaviour and took part in all activities that were available in Year 2! We also has Sports Day in the afternoon and WOW, I was so impressed with how well they all did!!!!

Then we finished the week with some strange goings on around the school grounds.....THE SPOTTING OF A DRAGON!!!! The children have been looking for clues and updating me of what they have found. Beware though....there may be more to come!! We then had DANCE DAY! Which was great success and the children danced so well. What a week we have had in Year 1!!

Just a few things to finish this blog.....Please can you have a hunt around your homes and look for any RWI books or library books you may have. We have quite a few missing, and if we don't get these back we will not be able to send anymore home.

Just to clarify, each week we send home a RWI book which is for your children to read and build up fluency while reading. They then bring this book back at the end of the week. They should be reading these books confidently and with expression. There are also questions at the back for you to ask your child after they have read the book to ensure they are understanding what they reading. They will also come home with a library book which is what they have chosen to read for pleasure. These can come back when they have finished reading them and we will swap them. Home learning books also come home weekly with a different task in. This is not compulsory, it is there for you if you want to complete the task.

If you have any questions, as always please email or catch me at the classroom door!
See you all tomorrow!
