A BIG THANK YOU FROM THE YEAR 1 TEAM!

We just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you for your incredibly generous gifts you got us for the end of the year. Also we want to thank you for all the support you have given us during your children's time in Year 1, we have loved every minute of being with your children.

Our time in Year 1 together has been unforgettable and we are so incredibly proud of each and every one of your children.

Have a well deserved summer holiday!

An A4 book should have come home with each child. This is a summer diary for them to complete and bring back in at the start of Year 2!

Reminders about the last few days in Year 1

Hi everyone, hope you aren't melting too much from this heat!  

Just a few reminders about the last few days in Year 1. Tomorrow we are back to school uniform, however, please still send in hats with your children as it will still be sunny and warm.

Please look for any books (RWI or Library) you may have at home. A lot have gone home this year, but not all of them have returned. It's really important we have these back in. 

Can you also remember to send in a plastic sturdy bag with your child's name on it for their school books. 

On Thursday there are no hot lunches so please send in your child with a packed lunch.

Reminder about tomorrow!

Hello everyone! Just a quick reminder about tomorrow. We are having a non-school uniform day tomorrow and Tuesday to ensure that children are as cool and comfortable as they can be. It is so important that children have sun cream on and come into school with a sun hat. We will be encouraging children to drink lots of water throughout the day!

Also we are having a water fight tomorrow so please send in children with a change of clothes. 

We are also asking that all books (RWI, Library books) come back into school this week. Please can you also send your child in with a named sturdy plastic bag so that we can send home their books from this year.

Monday - Water Fight!

Hi all, hope you are enjoying the sunshine and not feeling too hot!!

As Monday is looking very hot we were planning to have a water fight under the shaded areas in school to keep us cool. 

Please can you send in children with wet clothes as we don't want them going home wet in the clothes they come into school with. We are also allowing children to bring in any water guns or water toys they may have to help with the water fight!

Sports day tomorrow!

Hi all, just sending a reminder about sports day tomorrow!

Please can you make sure that all children have their PE kit in school - most do have these already in school but some don't. Children also need a sun hat and need to have sun cream on. It is going to be EXTREMELY hot tomorrow and it's so important children are protected correctly.

CHANGE OF DATE/TIME - EYFS AND KS1 SPORTS DAY

PLEASE NOTE - Following the HEAT WAVE WARNING made for the week ahead, we will be moving our EYFS and KS1 SPORTS DAY events from Thursday afternoon to Wednesday morning this week. 

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however, we must put the safety of our pupils first at all times.

 

Reception Sports Day will now take place from 9:10-9:50 am on Wednesday 13th July 2022.

 

Year One and Year Two Sports Day will now take place from 10:00-11:30 am on Wednesday 13th July 2022.

 

SPECTATORS ARE VERY WELCOME AT BOTH EVENTS.

Last week in the Year 1 classroom!

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a lovely weekend and are feeling ready for another week in Year 1.

We have been incredibly busy again in the Year 1 classroom. 

On Monday we took part in the bikeathon where children rode their bikes or scooters around the school. The children loved being able to be on their bikes or scooters in the school. On Tuesday we were lucky enough to have a taster session of Taekwondo. The children loved this and there were a few who mentioned they would like to start classes. On Wednesday we had a special assembly with Adam Sevenoaks who came in to talk about his disability and how this hasn't stopped him with his sporting life. On Friday we had DANCE DAY! Although I wasn't there to see them do their dance, I heard that they were absolutely amazing!

Coming up this week we have a special assembly from Beth Tweedle, Darts day, bump up afternoon where children will be coming up with me into Year 2 and learning about how Year 2 will be for them. To finish off the week we will be taking part in golf football. 

Another busy week in the Year 1 classroom!
