Year 1 - Space

Image result for space images black hole

Hello everyone,

I hope the parent information session this morning was useful! If you were unable to attend, the presentation will be shared on Facebook. If you have any questions please feel free to come and chat with us.
As we are now well and truly in to our topic of space I thought I would share a few links to some of the materials we have been looking at so far! The children have been so enthused by the topic so far and have shown great curiosity; asking questions that the adults have had no idea about! Above is the first ever image taken of a Black Hole - which we have had endless questions about.

So, without further delay, here are the links!

Chris Hadfield put together a series of really interesting videos from his experiments whilst he was up on the International Space Station - here
NASA has some brilliant pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope as well as a tonne of other media - here
The Science Museum has a wide range of space based things online too - here
And finally, the European Space Agency website has a whole kids area to explore - here

Thank you to the children that have already bought in their Space home learning project! Just to remind everyone it is to investigate a part of our solar system and find out some facts that can be presented in as creative a way as you can conceive!
